The Michigan Women's Hall of Fame promotes equality of women by honoring the history and celebrating the accomplishments of Michigan women.

The Michigan Women's Studies Association (MWSA), an academic professional organization, was founded in 1973 on the campus of Michigan State University to change what is thought and taught about women, particularly Michigan women, in schools, colleges, and universities. As an extension of that mission, the organization decided to establish a museum dedicated to women's history: the first of its kind in the nation.

A large collection of cars and automotive memorabilia as a tribute to the automobile industry courtesy of Ransom E. Olds. The first Oldsmobile was built in 1897 is on display along with antique REOs and Stars.


Remembrance Memorial

Located at the northeast corner of Michigan Ave and Grand Ave, in Wentworth Park.

The memorial is a 10-foot H-beam salvaged from the World Trade Center and honors those who lost their lives in New York at the Trade Center, on Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon in Virginia on September 11, 2001.

The Lansing Community College’s Japanese Garden provides a peaceful space to sit, stroll and learn about Japanese culture. Several plantings include Japanese Cherry trees, Maples, and pines as well as several traditional elements including lanterns and a water garden. The garden is named after Megumi Shigematsu.

Vietnam Memorial

Erected and dedicated in 2001 to pay tribute to the 2,651 Michigan casualties of the Vietnam War. More than 400,000 men and women from Michigan served in this war. The memorial is a 120-foot-long graceful steel arc that is suspended three feet above the ground.
