About the Curtenius Guard Camp No. 17 Lansing/Sunfield Curtenius Guard Camp No. 17 meetings are held at the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Hall, 115 Main Street, Sunfield, Michigan Sunfield (West of Lansing) at 7:00 P.M. on the last Tuesdays of January, March, July, September, and November, and the 30th of May. The GAR Hall was erected in 1899 by the members of Samuel Grinnell GAR Post No. 283. It is listed as an Eaton County Historical Site, included in the State of Michigan Register of Historical Sites, and the National Register of Historic Places. It is the only GAR Hall in Michigan to have been in continuous service by members of the Allied Orders since it was built.
