George Edwin Cogshall

George Edwin Cogshall was born 14 December, 1855 in Niles, Michigan.
He was a member of I. B. Richardson Camp No. 14, of Grand Rapids,
and served as Camp Commander in 1890. He was elected Division Commander
in 1898 at Port Huron. George was elected Sr. Vice Commander-in-Chief
at the 17th National Encampment of the Sons of Veterans, in 1897.
At the 1898 National Encampment, the Commander-in-Chief, Charles
K. Darling, was at the head of his regiment in the Spanish-American
War, (Colonel of the 6th Massachusetts Infantry), so Bro. Cogshall
had the honor of presiding at the Encampment. Bro. Cogshall married
Kittie Bole 14 December, 1879 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was
also a member of the "Order of Chosen Friends", in Grand
Rapids.
